A parent or guardian’s refusal to provide such data should not result in a denial of a child’s enrollment.\nEnrollment cannot be denied if a student (or their parent or guardian) chooses not to provide a Social Security number. If a Social Security number is requested\, the district must inform the individual that disclosure is voluntary\, provide the legal basis for seeking the number\, and clarify its intended uses.\n\n
